Vitamins need minerals. Without them, vitamins cannot be assimilated into the body. The body can manufacture a few vitamins but it cannot produce a single mineral. Minerals are important to all tissues and fluids of our body. Because plants incorporate minerals from the soil into their own tissues, fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, nuts and seeds are excellent sources – leafy greens being one of the best.
